Under Your Roof and In Your Backyard

A few months ago I had the opportunity to do a podcast with
Dean Marsico and Derek Stearns on their show, “Under Your Roof and in Your Backyard.” These two are probably the most well-known masons in the United States, and have been promoting natural stone to the masses for decades. Their banter and swagger is fun, educational, and designed to make people understand how interesting and profitable being a stonemason is today.

The first time I worked with Dean and Derek they were doing a DIY Network show called “Rock Solid”. I was watching their show from time to time. The show was obviously right in my wheelhouse of interest. There’s something about watching masonry that’s just fascinating to me. The episode we did was quite unique – Putting Chilton Sedona Rustic thin veneer on the inside of a small schooner sailboat! It wasn’t a big project, but showed an extreme where natural stone thin veneer can be utilized.

When they asked me to be a guest, I knew it was going to be fun. I was happy to tell the story of our family business. All too often we forget about the great risks those before us took to make a better future. Listen below for more, and thanks for stopping by!
